About this event
Nine years in the making, this award-winning black-and-white documentary is a poignant ethnography on the contemporary life of families of Black generational farmers in the South whose farms date back to the late 1800s. It is an intimate view of the farmwork, daily life, community institutions, and federal farm policy making up these farmers’ world. Seeds won the U.S. Documentary Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance 2025 Film Festival.
