About this event
ADJUNCT
(82 min) (2024)
Director: Ron Najor
You can join either or both of Sunday's showings ( 4:00 or 7:00) with the same Zoom link.
“Adjunct” is a feature length movie depicting the all-too-common indignities and exploitation faced by a gig worker in higher education who also drives for Uber.
Today, most faculty in higher education are essentially gig workers. These conditions are favored by management, and, too often are accepted by faculty union leaders
in contract negotiations
.
Many of these well-educated underpaid gig workers are enrolled in public assistance programs or even homeless, as is the main character in this film.
After the showing of the film, there will be a few short presentations followed by an audience discussion to share reactions to the film and its subject matter.
