Ricardo Levins Morales is a Minneapolis-based artist and organizer who uses art as “political medicine” to support healing and social change. A longtime activist shaped by Puerto Rican anti-colonial struggles, he has supported labor, racial justice, environmental, and antiwar movements, and co-founded the Northland Poster Collective.
A very special birthday is coming up for Ricardo on May 25- he will be reaching his 70th turn around the sun!
To celebrate this wonderful fact, we are inviting you to join us in two ways:
1. Join Ricardo for a 70th birthday celebration on his birthday- May 25th, 2-6 PM at Hidden Falls Park Picnic Area!
- If you are able, please bring a dish to share, and a chair to sit in (in case of a busy pavilion day).
- We will bring some chairs and have good food too, so feel free to just bring yourself!
2. Let’s show Ricardo what he means to us with a collective gift of birthday messages!
We are doing a Kudoboard- which means you can upload videos, photos, and messages to be compiled into a special gift.
Please share any or all of the following:
- How has Ricardo impacted you?
- Fun, funny, or special memories and/or stories.
- Something you think about Ricardo that you haven’t shared with him.
- Anything else you’d like to share as a birthday messages.
