New Labor Exhibit Opens in Lansing
A new permanent exhibit dedicated to Lansing automotive labor history, "Assembled in Lansing"opens at the R E Olds Transportation Museum in Lansing with a ribbon cutting on Wednesday, June 3rd. This exhibit was made possible through funding from an "America at 250" grant through the History Division of the State of Michigan. The opening will run from 3 - 5 PM with ribbon cutting and remarks from the UAW Region 1-D Director Steve Dawes and others at 4 PM. A number of other labor leaders have been invited including UAW International Union President Shawn Fain (not confirmed at this time). Everyone is invited to this free event. The Museum is located at 240 Museum Drive (off Michigan Avenue) in Lansing. The Museum is a wonderful jewel and this is a great way to see it again or for the first time. The Museum's website is
