2026 DC LABOR FILMFEST: Telling Workers’ Stories... One Film at a Time

Harold Phillips | Published on 4/20/2026

Organized and presented by the Labor Heritage Foundation and AFI Silver Theatre and Cultural Center, this annual series features a wide-ranging selection of films about work, workers, and the issues shaping working people’s lives—past and present.

This year’s festival is one of our strongest yet, with powerful new documentaries and narratives from around the world, timely stories on organizing and inequality, and a notable surge in films centering women’s voices. Highlights include films on media, the fight for worker power, and the ongoing struggle for economic and social justice, along with special guests and post-screening discussions.

Union members receive the AFI's Silver Cinema Club (Star level) ticket discount (must present union card).

Special thanks to our longtime founding sponsor American Income Life.

Thanks to all our sponsors, including SEIU, AFSCME, ATU, Bricklayers, IAM, LiUNA, SAG-AFTRA, ULLICO, Jay Youngdahl, Ken Grossinger & Micheline Klagsbrun, UNITE HERE!
