The Labor Heritage Foundation (LHF) is pleased to announce that Bob King, president of the United Auto Workers (UAW) will be honored at this year’s annual Labor Heritage Foundation Solidarity Forever Awards ceremony. Honorees are chosen for their significant contributions to the labor movement; particularly through support and use of Labor Arts, Culture and Creative organizing
LHF is also delighted to announce that Jim Boland, president of the International Union of Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers will once again emcee this great event; Larry Cohen, president of the Communications Workers of America will co-host.
This year’s awards event will be held May 8th 6 to 7:30 pm at the AFL-CIO, Gompers Room, 815 16th Street, NW, Washington, D.C.
The evening begins at 6 p.m. with hors d’oeuvres, refreshments and live music by the Steve Jones jazz trio in the Samuel Gompers Room at the AFL-CIO headquarters. The awards program, will begin promptly at 7 pm.
