Silver Spoon by Si Kahn

A New Musical!

Polly Bullock is a rising star in a big family-owned Wall Street brokerage house. Polly is also editor of New York City’s leading alternative newspaper, and is spending more and more time with Dan, the fiery, working class leader of the local grape boycott committee. Can Polly conceal her privileged identity from Dan? Will Dan ever leave Brooklyn for California? And what will Polly’s grandfather and Dan’s mother do about their improbable attraction to each other?

Set in late 1960s New York City against the background of the international grape boycott led by Cesar Chavez, Dolores Huerta and the United Farm Workers of America, SILVER SPOON is a romantic musical comedy about parents and children, and honoring family commitments while fighting for what’s right.

Sl Kahn

The songs for SILVER SPOON were composed by legendary songwriter/musician/organizer Si Kahn, and arranged and orchestrated by last year’s Tony Award winner for Best Orchestration, Larry Hochman (Book of Mormon). The musical’s book was written by long time Cambridge-based playwright and Berklee School of Music faculty member Amy Merrill.
