About this event

The EWOC - NYLHA reading group is back on for Spring 2026 and we are happy to announce our next book and the date of our first session.

By popular demand our next reading will be Motown and the Making of Working-Class Revolutionaries: The Story of the League of Revolutionary Black Workers by Walda Katz-Fishman and Jerome Scott. This new and exciting book offers a history of the League of Revolutionary Black Workers, the Dodge Revolutionary Union Movement, and their participation in the struggles of auto workers in Detroit.

A copy of the book can be purchased from here: https://www.ugapress.org/9780820374284/motown-and-the-making-of-working-class-revolutionaries/

More details on the book can be found here: https://www.motownrevolutionaries.org/

We will be reading Parts 1 and 2 of the book for our first session. Our first meeting will be on Wednesday, February 11. It will occur over Zoom and will start at 6:30 pm and end at 8:00 pm.

The link for the meeting can be found here: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/88929644187?pwd=PfZu4vaNYrwU3jbXRXHzUrtF4kmFNW.1

Our second session will be on Wednesday, March 11. It will also be on Zoom from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm.
